This large teapot is a wonderful fusion of outlandish design and controlled potting and glazing, typical of Jeremy Nichols' well known style.
In salt glazed white stoneware it is potted and glazed with superb precision. Jeremy trained as an aeronautical engineer before becoming a potter in 1997, and the sleek look and perfect balance of this item show that influence, as well as that of the modern salt glaze potters, such as Walter Keeler and Jane Hamlyn, whose work Jeremy has extended.
With an incised monogram and stamped number 5 on the base, this teapot is 25cm high to the top on the handle, 17 cm in diameter at the top of the body and 32 cm long in maximum length from handle to spout tip.
Guaranteed in excellent condition with no damage or restoration.
