This attractive and brightly decorated vase combines the North African/Arabian pottery styles and glazes with Art Deco design. It is the work of the studio of Louis Tissier, who was active in Nabeul, Tunisia, during the early part of the 20th century. Nabeul was and still is famous for its pottery, and this is a genuine antique piece, very well potted. The stamped mark of Tissier is on the base (there is also the remains of a collector's label). The decoration on the vase is Arab influenced and includes the Arabic script for Nabeul.
